ATTORNEY SEAN PARKER
Sean brings a rare combination of law enforcement, legal, and academic expertise to his client representation. A native of Rhode Island, he embarked on his path at Northeastern University/Western New England College, where he earned a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. His initial foray into the insurance industry as an adjuster and appraiser for Metropolitan Insurance provided a foundational understanding of liability and risk assessment, skills that would later prove invaluable in his legal career.
Sean later joined the Cranston Police Department, serving with distinction for over two decades. While ascending the ranks to Captain, he concurrently pursued his Juris Doctorate at New England Law of Boston, graduating with honors. During this period, he was selected for a prestigious Rule 9 internship, allowing him to work with the Rhode Island Attorney General's office and prosecute criminal cases.
Sean's background in law enforcement is unmatched. During his career spanning over 20 years, he has been assigned as the Commander of the Special Reaction Team, Commander of the Underwater Recovery Team, a Field Training Coordinator, and served in the department's prosecution unit. Sean rose to the rank of Captain and is currently assigned to the Office of Professional Standards, handling many legal controversies for the department and the City of Cranston.
On top of his vast law enforcement experience, Sean also serves as the Law and Society Program Director for Roger Williams University and is an adjunct professor, teaching classes such as constitutional law, criminal procedure, and criminal law. Additionally, Sean instructs at the Justice System Training & Research Institute, advising police supervisors on liability encompassing police accountability and discipline. On top of these responsibilities and having a deep belief in rehabilitation, Sean was also selected to serve as an adjunct professor within the Adult Correctional Institution in Cranston, teaching inmates subjects such as Legal Psychology and Criminology.
Admitted to the bar in both Rhode Island and Massachusetts, Sean maintains active membership in their respective bar associations, and his affiliations also include the Alpha Phi Sigma National Honor Society. He has obtained a Rhode Island Insurance Adjustor and Appraiser license and has contributed significantly to the law enforcement community as a past board member of the IBPO Local 301 and as chair of Law Enforcement Officer Bill of Rights panels.
